Director of Maintenance Named Mechanic of the Year

Anthony (TJ) Criscola is an A&P Mechanic with inspector’s authorization and lives in Ketchikan. He has worked in the aviation industry for nearly 20 years and for Taquan Air for 16 years. He currently is the Director of Maintenance and oversees the maintenance for 14 company and customer aircraft. In the years of working for Taquan he has overcome enormous challenges which have included taxing personnel issues, working in a floating hangar in adverse weather conditions, dealing with salt water, corrosion, and aging aircraft issues. He looks for solutions to resolve problems not just in his department but company wide. He is a team player which is just one reason he is so valuable in the maintenance department and to other departments.

TJ is an expert in his field and is at the top of his game. He greets challenges with a positive attitude and is always highly professional and ethical in all aspects of his job. He is well respected by his colleagues and coworkers and it is a pleasure to work with. TJ portrays the ability to positively manage personnel and is always looking for ways to improve communication, production and while giving employees’ ownership. You can now see TJ in Taquan’s new facility which includes a new maintenance hangar which he helped design and is very proud of. In addition, TJ has succeeded in taking responsibilities such as adding new Capstone technology to all company aircraft while helping with the FAA Medallion program. He is a diligent worker that treats his job as if it were his own business attending to every detail in a professional and timely manner.
